Dr. Dood Cocktail: help

Hemingway Daiquiri per your biz card.
I got Flor de Cana 4 year Extra Dry for the white, the Luxardo for the Maraschino liquer. Lime juice and grapefruit juice. added 4tsp of sugar instead of 1 like you suggested on gtalk today and the rum seems to overpower it compared to what I drank at vesper. Help!

Alternative : make 2:1 simple syrup. Sub .5 oz simple for the sugar.

Bah. I yearn for the smooth flavor I had before. It just tastes off. Like if you served this to your customers I think you'd be ashamed.
