Apologies For the Spam

If any of you have corresponded with me via gmail at some time in the past, you probably got some spam from me today. My gmail account was compromised and used to send out a bunch of spam email for about an hour. Looks like between 50 and 100 emails were sent out during the course of about an hour.
Please accept my sincere apologies if you got one. I've never had my account compromised in 20 years of working with secured systems of one form or another, so this is very distressing to me. I'm not sure yet how it happened, but I'm guessing an ARP poisoning attack on an unsecured Wifi network (I've been using one on the train recently) or maybe just dictionary'd, as I don't use the same password for anything else (thankfully, that probably saved my shit on a bunch of different sites).
